Dark Fantasy Romance and Sword and Sorcery Author Elias Fenic.

About Elias Fenic Dark Fantasy Adventure Author and World-Crafter

Elias Fenic is a dark fantasy adventure author and creator of the meticulously crafted fantasy world of Albrene. His epic sword and sorcery saga, Blight of Divinity, is the culmination of nearly two decades of sustained world-building and development. It is a world shaped through hundreds of hours of original Dungeons and Dragons campaigns and short-story character explorations.

Albrene is a storied world shaped by layers of history and culture entirely original to the setting. It is a world dominated by a pantheon of gods of unclear intent, costly corrupting magic, divine wars, and gritty consequences; all for the purpose of exploring the darker sides of the human condition.

The Man Behind The Words

Born in Texas and raised under the myths and legends created by his idols, authors like J.R.R. Tolkien and Christopher Paolini, Elias quickly developed a deep fascination with fantasy literature and speculative storytelling. He explored works of grand mythic traditions and darker, grounded worlds. But it was dragons and the worlds they inhabited, particularly when framed as allies to the protagonist, that shaped his imagination.

No longer satisfied by the consumption of other worlds, Elias began his journey as an author in 2008 when he started his first novel, The Awakening. It was an early exploration of the world that would eventually become Albrene. Though that project has not yet reached publication, it marked the beginning of a sustained commitment to storytelling and world-building that would define his later work.

Emboldened by a discovered talent and passion for the craft, Elias immersed himself in the study of narrative structures, character development, and genre conventions. Elias received mentorship from other authors in both high school and college, where he studied art and design. These experiences were invaluable in refining his storytelling and instincts for visual language and world construction. But it was the dark fantasy romance author Jenna Moreci and her writing community that contributed most profoundly to his motivation and knowledge of writing.

Influences and Inspiration

For nearly two decades now, Elias has been writing fantasy stories, table-top role-playing games, and books within the world of Albrene. But in 2019, Elias wrote Chronicles of Divinity's Blight: A Dungeons & Dragons campaign for his college friends to play together. What began as a structured and short-intentioned game evolved into a crucible where character arcs, divine conflict, and long-form thematic design were forged.

Now, seven drafts later, Rise of The Witnesses: Blight of Divinity Book 1 reached publication. The campaign's collaborative storytelling and the generosity of his players, strengthened the emotional depth, lived quality, and layering of Elias's writing, laying the foundation for the many sequels to come in this dark fantasy saga.
